Bobby Dale Lipscomb, 86 of Proctorville, OH, formerly of Huntington, WV passed away, Saturday, February 3, 2018. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Henson and Kitchen Mortuary, Huntington, W.Va. near Barboursville with Rev. Steve Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Bobby was born March 27, 1931 in Barboursville, WV the son of the late, Claude F. and Dorothy Steele Lipscomb. He graduated from Barboursville High School in 1950 and attended Marshall College. He served in the United States Navy from 1952 to 1953. In his younger years, Bobby was known as “Pinball” due to his love of playing the pinball machine. Bobby was known for his friendliness and his smile. Bobby was a Christian and charter member of Central Free Will Baptist Church in Huntington, WV. He spent most of his career working for Means Clean Towel Service and Mack & Dave’s, working into his 70’s. Bobby was known for his friendliness to everyone he met. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Lea Lipscomb; three sisters, Frances Hobbs, Mary Alice Fizer and Jean Black; five brothers, Claude, Jr., Everett, Rufus, Glen and Jack and two nephews, Donald Black and Rocky Lipscomb. Survivors include his wife, Jane H. Lipscomb of Proctorville, OH; one son, and daughter-in-law, Bobby F. and Tammy Lipscomb of Charleston, WV and their two children, Emma and Noah Lipscomb; two step-sons, Phillip Smith and his family of Proctorville, OH. and Robert S. Shafer and his family of Atlanta, GA; one step-daughter, Deborah Reynolds and her family of Proctorville, OH and many beloved nieces and nephews. Special thanks to his caregivers, Bonnie Moore Downing and the staff of Cabell Huntington Hospital. Bobby spent his last weeks at Rivers Bend Nursing Home in South Point, OH where he received extraordinary care, kindness and compassion.
