Erva Jean Morrison
October 12, 1930 - February 14, 2010



Erva Jean Morrison 79, of Huntington, WV went to be with the Lord on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2010, at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. She was born October 12, 1930 in Marble City, OK. She was preceded in death by her mother Laverna Mays, stepfather Jeff Kirk, and Sister Evelyn Kirk-Johnson. Survivors include her husband Jack Morrison, two sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffrey C. and Carol Morrison of Doylestown, Pa and Steven K. and Stacy Morrison of Huntington, WV; four grandchildren, Brittney Grantham, Hunter, Hannah and Megan Morrison, two brothers and their wives, Jerry (Ari) and Joe (Linda) Kirk; one sister, Selma Terrell and many loving and caring friends. She was a graduate of Southwestern College, and a former statistician for the U.S. Air force. She was an active member of Bethel Temple Assembly of God serving in various capacities which include; Secretary-Treasurer, Choir Director and Sunday school teacher in excess of 38 years. She was also a flower show judge and active member of the local ladies garden club. One of her greatest joys was learning to fly an airplane especially the thrill of successfully soloing. The services will be held, 11:00 AM, Thursday, February 18, 2010 at Bethel Temple Assembly of God Church, by the Reverend Doug Johnson. Burial will follow at Spring Valley Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at Klingel Carpenter Mortuary. The family wishes to express their appreciation to Hospice of Huntington and Bethel Temple Assembly of God for their love, outstanding care and unending kindness. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that memorial gifts be made in memory of Mrs. Morrison to Hospice House of Huntington, 1101 Sixth Ave., Huntington, WV 25701 or Bethel Temple Assembly of God, 900 9th Street, Huntington, WV 25701.
