Betty Haden Nelson

Betty Haden Nelson, 93, of Barboursville, died Thursday, February 25, 2010 in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House.

She was born May 7, 1916 in Pittsburgh, Penn., a daughter of the late H. A. and Marie Bauer Heineman. A retired Real Estate Agent for Whitling-Thomas-Covington Realty Company, a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, a Volunteer for fifty years with the Cabell Huntington Hospital Auxiliary, a charter member of the Woman’s Club of Huntington and The American Cancer Society.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded by two husbands, A. E. “Ed” Haden and Lee E. Nelson.

She is survived by two sons and one daughter, David E. Haden and wife Carolyn of Charleston, W.Va., Retired Colonel Robert H. “Hank” Haden and wife Eileen of Lake Gaston, N.C. and Betty Sue Kinzer and husband John of Huntington; ten grandchildren; twenty four great grandchildren and a sister, Jeanne Souchak of Pebbles Beach, Calf.

Services will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 28, 2010 at St. John’s Episcopal Church by The Rev. Karen F. Humbert. Entombment will follow in Woodmere Abbey of Remembrance. Friends may call Sunday, 2:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at the church.

Klingel-Carpenter Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
