Pansy Carroll
June 26, 1925 - July 7, 2010



Pansy Carroll, 85, of Shoals, WV, died Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at her residence. Funeral service will be held 12 noon Friday, July 9, 2010 at the Shoals Missionary Baptist Church with visitation from 11 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow in the Brumfield Family Cemetery. Pansy was born June 26, 1925 in Cabell County, daughter of the late Ezra and Mary Stephenson Adkins. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Paul W. Carroll; a son, Charles Emerson Carroll; 3 brothers, Ralph, Donald, and Robert Adkins and 2 sisters, Mildred Young and Elsie Motz Owens. Mrs. Carroll was a founding member of the Shoals Missionary Baptist Church of which she took an active leadership role in various church activities. She was also a member of the Eastern Star and worked for the Reliance Dress Factory during the 1940’s. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Howard E. and Jennifer Carroll of Kenova and David P. and Bobbie Carroll of Shoals; two daughters, Paula Quinn and husband Robert W. of New Bern, NC and Edna Farley of Shoals; 7 grandchildren, Marlena Bleau, R. Grayson Quinn, Jessica Casey, Allison, James, Chase and Carissa Carroll; three great-grandchildren, Ashby Kate Bleau, Carlie Grace Casey and Cain Maynard; special caretakers, Loretta Adkins, Carroll Heck, Nora Borders and Mary Pinson.
