Violet L. Stark
December 18, 1919 - July 17, 2010

Violet L. Stark, 90, of Huntington, died Saturday, July 17, 2010 in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, July 19, 2010 at Klingel Carpenter Mortuary by the Rev. Suzanne Ellis. Entombment will follow in the Woodmere Abbey of Remembrance. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Violet was born December 18, 1919 in Huntington, WV., a daughter of the late Minor Franklin and Verna Alexandria Thornton. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, William R. Stark; a grandson, Todd Andrew Stark; two sisters, Dixie Newman and Margie Richardson and a brother, Billy Thornton. Survivors include 4 children, Karen Stark of Huntington, Gary Stark of Chesapeake, Ohio, W. Ronald Stark of Huntington and Judy Conard and her husband Tom of Huntington; six grandchildren, Mike Stark, Ronnie Reed, Tony Stark, Dusti Ferguson, Stacey Gracey, and Andy Stark; and 10 great-grandchildren. A special thanks to all of Mrs. Starks caregivers for the past 14 years and to Hospice of Huntington for all their assistance to the family. It is suggested that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Huntington.
