George Thomas Marshall,
67, of Huntington, WV passed away suddenly on a job site on July 27, 2010
while doing what he loves. George was an extraordinary man born on April
7th, 1943 in Sutton, WV to parents James and Erie Marshall. George was
Student Body President and Homecoming King at Sutton High School. He
graduated from Glenville State College in 1964 with a degree in Chemistry
where he was a member of the TKA fraternity, President and co-founder of the
Holy Roller’s Court. He married his first wife, Marilyn, in 1968. George was
a chemist at INCO Alloys for 27 years. After retirement, George started his
own plumbing business and became a well respected plumber throughout the
tri-state area. George was an avid hunter and fisherman and an active member
of the Three Rivers Branch of the National Wild Turkey Federation. George
was also an active member of his church, St. John’s Episcopal. George
married his second wife, Lenna, in 2002. George was a loving husband,
father, and grandfather. He always took his golden retriever, Trixie,
everywhere with him.
George is survived by his loving wife Lenna, one brother James Marshall, and
one sister Linda Marshall of Huntington, WV; His ex-wife and lifelong
friend, Marilyn Marshall, of Huntington, WV; their eldest daughter and
son-in-law, Tabitha Watson and Reginald Watson of Richmond, VA; their
daughter Sarah Sexton of Huntington, WV; stepdaughter and stepson-in-law
Keri and Levi Smith of Charleston, SC; stepson and stepdaughter-in-law
Christopher and Julie Drummond of Huntington, WV; grandchildren Thomasiana,
Wesley, Reginald, and Erie; step-grandchildren Grace, Jackson, Ivy, Abraham,
and Joseph; extended family and friends.
The visitation will be at 11 a.m iuntill 1 p.m.. and the funeral service
will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday July 31, 2010 at St. John’s Episcopal
church in Huntington, WV. Following the service there will be a reception
held at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that friends and
family donate to Middle Run Baptist Church in Frametown, WV, St. John’s
Episcopal in Huntington, WV, or the National Wild Turkey Federation.
