Joseph E. Adkins

Joseph E. Adkins, Jr., 76, of Huntington, passed from this life Wednesday, July 13, 2011 in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington. Joseph was born June 9, 1935 in St. Mary’s, WV., the son of the late Joseph Edwards Adkins Sr. and Mary Edna Clovis Adkins. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Angela Crawford. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church and a graduate of Marietta Ohio College. He was retired from the Faultless Caster Manufacturing Co. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Joyce Hesson Adkins; four children, Joseph E. Adkins III and wife Cynthia of Columbus, OH., Julie L. Dost of Ft. Lauderdale, FL., Jeff A. Adkins and wife Darla of Huntington and Jennifer L. McClave and husband Rexall K. of Huntington; 16 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 15, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church by Monsignor Lawrence Luciana, Celebrant. Entombment will follow in Ridgelawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
