Marjorie Sarah Gilpin
(April 11, 1917 - July 23, 2011)



Marjorie Sarah “Tede” Gilpin, 94, of Huntington, died Saturday, July 23, 2011 in The Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. She was born April 11, 1917 in Cheboygan, Michigan, a daughter of the late Earl W. and Isabelle Julia Watson Smith. She retired as co-owner with her husband from WW Camco of Madison, W.Va. She was a member of Chesapeake United Methodist Church, Chesapeake, Ohio and O.E.S. Indian River, Michigan Chapter. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Henry Gilpin, four sisters and one brother. She is survived by two sons and a daughter, Frederick R. “Dick” Gilpin and his wife Marla of Chesapeake, Ohio and their children, Bryan Gilpin (Becky), Todd Gilpin, Carrie Dickson (Matt) all of Chesapeake and Paige Russell (Tillmon) of Spencer, W.Va.; Thomas H. Gilpin and his wife Susan of Huntington and their children, Kate Skahen (Marty) of Syracuse, NY, Andrew Gilpin of New York, NY and Ann Gilpin of Boston, Mass.; Susan L. Pangle and her husband Clayton of Loudon, Tenn. and their children, Clay Pangle, Chris Carr, Elizabeth Pangle, all of Loudon, Tenn., Phillip Carr (Melinda) of Knoxville, Tenn., Patricia Jones (Eddie) of Sweetwater, Tenn., and Aimee Massey (Robert) of Memphis, Tenn. and 16 great grandchildren. Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 28, 2011 at Nordman Funeral Home, Cheboygan, Mich. Where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, Cheboygan. Friends may call Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Klingel-Carpenter Mortuary, Huntington. Expressions of sympathy may be made to The Foster Foundation (The Woodlands) or Chesapeake United Methodist Church.
