Mr. Donald Roy Woods
(December 22, 1932 - July 2, 2011)

Donald Roy Woods, 78, of Huntington WV, died on July 2, 2011 in Cabell-Huntington Hospital. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at the First Presbyterian Church, 1015 Fifth Avenue, by the Rev. Skip Seibel and the Rev. Dr. John C. Minihan. Interment will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Don was born December 22, 1932 in Huntington, West Virginia, the son of the late Roy C. and Florence Maxwell Woods. He was a graduate of Marshall University and was employed as a research chemist for Ashland Petroleum Company from 1955 to 1993. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church for over 65 years where he served in numerous capacities, including Elder and Deacon. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Leona Sullivan Woods, two daughters and sons-in- law, Beverly and John McCoy of Huntington and Karen and Jack Alford of Barboursville, one sister, Arlene Woods Kelly of Huntington, one brother, Elmer Maxwell Woods of Elyria, Ohio, three grandchildren, Charles Anson Alford, Ashley Layne Alford and Michael Ryan McCoy and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Huntington.
