Mary Lou (Jeppe) Ohl
(October 11, 1934 - May 12, 2014)



Mary Lou Ohl, 79, of Huntington, died Monday, May 12, 2014 at Woodlands Health Care. She was born October 11, 1934 in Geneva, Ohio a daughter of the late Harold H. and Doris Peterson Jeppe. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by a son, Lt. Jeffrey C. Ohl. She received her RN Degree from Mount Siani Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio and worked as a Visiting Public Health Nurse in Cleveland. In Huntington, she worked as an office nurse, the C & O Hospital and the Pediatric Clinic where she retired as Executive Director. She was a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority, Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church where she had served as a Trustee, Past President of the Junior Woman’s Club of Huntington, a member of The Woman’s Club of Huntington, D.AR. and was appointed by Governor Underwood to the Original CHIPS (Children’s Health Insurance Program) Board of WV. She was also a member of PEO Chapter I and the Timberlake and Huntington Garden Clubs. She is survived by her husband, David Ohl; one son and one daughter, Dr. Matthew Ohl (Suzy) of Charlotte, NC, Jennifer Sanders (David) of Shorewood, Wisc., five grandchildren, Katy, Sara, Christopher Ohl of Charlotte, Hallie and Henry Sanders of Shorewood. Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 16, 2014 at Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church by the Rev. Jack Lipphardt. Interment will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park. Friends may call Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Klingel-Carpenter Mortuary. The family and Mary Lou would greatly appreciate expressions of sympathy to the Jeffrey Ohl Scholarship Fund c/o Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church or the organization of one’s choice.
