Leona Sullivan Woods

Leona Sullivan Woods,
83, of Huntington, died July 21, 2015, in Cabell Huntington Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church, 1015
Fifth Avenue, Huntington, by the Rev. Dr. John C. Minihan. Interment will
follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Leona was born April 3, 1932, in
Ravenswood, W.Va., the daughter of the late Willis D. and Orpha C. Sullivan.
She was a graduate of Marshall College. After a varied career in business,
she retired as broker/owner of Metro Properties and director of the Real
Estate Development Center, both of which she founded. She was a devoted
member of First Presbyterian Church for more than 60 years, serving in a
variety of roles including deacon, administrative secretary, and director of
Christmas International House. She was preceded in death by her husband,
Donald Roy Woods, and a brother, Lawrence Sullivan. She is survived by two
daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly and John McCoy of Huntington, and Karen
and Jack Alford of Barboursville; one brother and sister-in-law, Harold
Wayne and Lucy Sullivan; three grandchildren, C. Anson Alford, Ashley Alford
and Michael McCoy; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call one
hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial
contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church.
