Isa Avelyn Felix
Isa Avelyn Felix, 64, of Ona, died Thursday, October
28,1999, in St. Marys Hospital. Services were conducted
Monday, November 1 1999, at Z. Warner United Methodist Church
with Rev. Jerry Ryder, Rev. Brent Gibson and Rev. Jeff Benedict
officiating. Burial in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. She was
born December 11, 1934. in Cabell County, a daughter of the late
Stanley and Gladys Simpson Colegrove. She was a homemaker and a
member of Z. Warner United Methodist Church. She was preceded in
death by her husband, Arnold Corky Felix, and one
sister, Averil Rollyson. Survivors include two daughters and
sons-in-law, Sue and David Benedict and Pam and Steve Browning,
all of Ona; one nephew and his wife, Randy and Annette Rollyson
and their son, Matthew; a special cousin, Phyllis Smith; four
grandchildren Stephanie Valdez, Kristi Browning, Brad Benedict
and Aaron Benedict; and two greatgrandchildren, Anthony Steven
Valdez and Alison Nicole Rowe. Pallbearers were Bill Miller,
Randy Scarberry, Rod Bodmer,Warren Williams, Delmar Massie, and
Peck Rutherford. Henson Mortuary, Pea Ridge, was in charge of
arrangements.

James William Fulks
James William Fulks, 71, of Milton, W,Va., went to be
with his Lord Monday, Oct. 18, 1999, at St. Marys Hospital.
Funeral services were held on Thursday at The Church in the
Valley with the Reverends Stan Maynard, David Ashworth and Jim
Franklin officiating. Burial in Woodmere Memorial Park. He was
born June 20, 1928, in Lincoln County, WV, a son of the late Roy
and Gladys Webb Fulks. He was also preceded in death by two
sisters, Janet Leach and Delores Mays. He was retired from the
cold drawing department at Huntington Alloys. He was a charter
member of The Church in the Valley, Milton. He is survived by his
wife, Josephine Jo Fulks; a son and daughter-in-law,
Jay and Angela Fulks of Centerburg, OH; a daughter and son-in-law
Jamie and Ric Kern of Atlanta, GA; four sisters, Sylvia Midkiff
of Franklin, WV, Elsie Midkiff of Huntington, WV, Rose Ekers of
Avon Lake, OH, and Alice Thomas of Natchez, Miss.; three
grandchildren, Mackenzie Jae Fulks, Jordan Alexander Fulks, and
Logan James Fulks; and several nieces and nephews. Heck Funeral
Home, Milton, was in charge of arrangements.

Susan Dolly Cabell Finley
Susan Dolly Cabell Finley, 88, of
Barboursville, died Saturday, October 23, 1999 at Mariner Health
Care. Funeral services were conducted Monday, October 25, 1999 at
1:00 P.M. at the Wallace Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Rick
Glass. Burial in Forest Memorial Park. She was born May 27, 1911
in Cabell County, a daughter of the late Mosco and Mollie May
Farley Cabell. She attended Elmwood Baptist Church. She was
preceded in death by her first husband, Walter Chapman, her
second husband, John Melvin Finley (obituary further below in
list), one sister, Stowe Ann Thomas, and two brothers, Clinton
Bear Cat May and Douglas Cabell. She is survived by
two sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth and James Scaggs of Wayne,
Georgia and Hubert Venoy of Milton; one brother and
sister-in-law, Frank and Opal Cabell of South Point, Ohio; two
special nieces, Mollie Hinchman and Nancy Rush; four
sisters-in-law, Kathryn Wickline of Salt Rock, Lillian Cabell of
Barboursville, Maybelle Baylous of Kentucky, and Ercie Hicks of
Newport News, Virginia; one brother-in-law, Enoch Finley and his
wife Mildred of Salt Rock; special friends, Lowell and Betty Clay
and family and Evelyn Adams, and several nieces and nephews.

Marie Foster
Marie Foster, 67, of Milton, died Wednesday, Aug. 4,
1999 in St. Marys Hospital. Funeral services were held on
Saturday, Aug. 7, 1999 at the Milton Funeral Home, Milton with
Rev. Jackie Clark officiating. Burial in Forest Memorial Park,
Milton. Mrs. Foster was born Nov. 14, 1931 in Milton, the
daughter of the late Wesley V. and Essie G. Harbour Wise. She was
retired from the Huntington State Hospital and was a member of
Zoar Baptist Church. Her husband Carl J. Foster preceded her in
death. Mrs. Foster is survived by three sons and
daughters-in-law, Steven.and Janet Foster of Kenova, Greg and
Jesi Foster of Branchland, Butch and Callie Foster of Milton and
one daughter and son-in-law, Lori Lea and Steven Johnson of
Hurricane; a brother and sister-in-law, Donovan and JoAnn Wise of
Bayboro, N.C.; a sister, Dorothy Perry of Milton; a sister and
brother-in-law, Faye and Arden Hite of Milton; her grandchildren,
Wesley, Michael, Jeremy, Cory, Andrea, Jesse and Tyler Foster and
Kaylan Johnson; and one special step-grandson, Mike Gill of Salt
Rock; and one great-granddaughter, Taylor Foster. Also surviving
are several nieces and nephews and special friends; and one very
special childhood friend, Freda Sarson of Proctorville.

Sephie Doris Ferguson
Sephie Doris Ferguson, 91, of Barboursville, went to be
with the Lord Saturday, June 26, 1999 at Cabell Huntington
Hospital. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, June 29,1999
at the Wallace Funeral Home by Evangelist Bud Lucas. Burial in
White Chapel Memorial Gardens. She was born June 21, 1908 in
Boone County, a daughter of the late Anthony and Rebecca Meadows
Kuhn. She was a member of the Milton Church of Christ. She was
also preceded in death by her husband, Ostace Earl Ferguson; one
son, Melvin Earl Ferguson; two grandsons, David Earl Ferguson and
Michael Glen Ferguson. She is survived by her daughter, Doris
Cooper of Barboursville; three sons and daughters-in-law, Avery
Ace and Opal Ferguson of Barboursville, Floyd L. and
Lovena Ferguson of Ona, and Lloyd G. and Edith Ferguson of
Lesage; one grandson, Johnny Dale Ferguson of Barboursville whom
she raised; eleven grandchildren, twenty-three
great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

John Melvin Finley
John Melvin Finley, 80, of Barboursville, died Tuesday,
June 29, 1999, at Morris Memorial Nursing Home. Funeral services
were conducted Friday, July 2, 1999, at Wallace Funeral Home
& Chapel by Pastor Rick Glass. Burial in Forest Memorial
Park, Milton. He was born February 23, 1919, in Milton, WV, a son
of the late Ben and Valeria Burns Finley. He was retired from
International Nickel and was a veteran of World War II serving in
the U.S. Army. He was also preceded in death by two brothers,
Richard and Junior Finley; and two sisters, Beulah Johnson and
Thelma Morrison. He is survived by his wife, Susan C.
Dolly Cabell Finley; two sisters, Kathryn Wickline of
Salt Rock and Ercie Hicks of Newport News, Virginia; one brother,
Enoch Finley and his wife, Mildred, of Salt Rock; two
sisters-in-law, Georgia Venoy and her husband Hubert of Milton,
Ruth Scaggs and her husband James of Wayne; one brother-in-law,
Frank Cabell and his wife, Opal, of South Point, Ohio; two
special nieces, Mollie Hinchman and Nancy Rush: several nieces
and nephews, and special friends, Lowell and Betty Clay and
family.

Leroy Flora
Mr. Leroy Flora, 72, of Glenwood, WV, passed away
Thursday, June 17,1999, in St. Marys Hospital, Huntington.
Graveside funeral services were conducted Saturday, June 19 in
White Chapel Memorial Gardens Chapel, Barboursville, WV, with
Pastor Paul R. Meadows officiating. LeRoy was born Dee. 27, 1926,
at Apple Grove, WV. He was a son of the late John D. Flora. LeRoy
was also preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Cleary Flora. He
was a retired master sergeant in the U.S. Army and a life member
in both VFW 9738 and D.A.V. Post 52. He is survived by two sons
and daughters-in-law, Lee Paul and DeVonna Flora of Richmond, VA,
and Ronald J. and Valeria Flora of Barboursville; one
step-granddaughter, Amanda Chapman; one brother, Charles Flora of
Glenwood and special friends, Genny Kinniard, Pauline Slayton,
and Rick and Karen Sowards. The family suggests memorials to
Hospice of Huntington, P.O. Box 464, Huntington, WV 25709-0464 in
lieu of flowers. Heck Funeral Home, Milton was in charge of
arrangements.
