Earnest V. “Jack” Nida
Earnest V. “Jack” Nida, 81, of Barboursville, died Sunday morning, Nov. 14, 1999 at his home. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, November 16, 1999 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Rev. Ben Varley. Burial in Baylous Cemetery. He was born March 23, 1918 in Cabell County, a son of the late Herbert and Bertha Baily Nida. He was a retired construction worker. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of the VFW Post #1064 Huntington. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Nellie Gue, Hester Dolen and Earlsee Nida; five brothers, Jess, Wetzel, Earl, William Carl and Johnny Nida. Survivors include his wife, Eunice Miller Nida; his son Dillon Lee Nida, (the joy of his life); step-children, Elaine Hiller and her husband, Richard, Elizabeth Gorman, Terry, William, John and Dennis Moss and Walter Wahrab; twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; his brothers, Herbert Nida of Salt Rock, WV, and Calvin Nida of Barboursville; his sisters, Norma Berry
and Lillia Adkins, both of Salt Rock and Ida Belle Stevens of Huntington.

John Nicholas
John Nicholas, 84, of Lakeland, Fla., formerly of Huntington, widower of Pauline Nicholas, died Friday, July 23, 1999 in Lakeland. Survivors include one daughter, Linda Evans of St. Petersburg, Fla.; one son, Jimmy Nicholas of Lakeland; two sisters, Gladys Ball of Huntington and Mae Raeby of Virginia; and two brothers, Fred Nicholas of Salisbury, N.C., and Bill Nicholas of Staunton, Va. Graveside service held Wednesday, July 28, 1999, in Mount Moriah Cemetery, Hurricane. Heck Funeral Home, Milton was in charge of arrangements.

James Howard Neale
James Howard Neale, 32, of Lesage, husband of Sonya Berry Neale, died Monday, July 19, 1999. He was an electrician with Jarvis Electric. Also surviving are one daughter, Laurie Neale of Lesage; three sisters, Tina Youngkin of Barberton, Ohio, Vicki Fredricks of Ohio and Michelle Sosenko of Florida; and four brothers, Daniel Fleegle , David Neale and Mark Neale of Lexington, Ky., and Robert Neale of Akron, Ohio. Funeral services were held Friday, July 23, 1999 at Chapman’s Mortuary; burial in Greenbottom Memorial Park.

Juanita Hayes Nichols, 79, of Milton, widow of James W. “Jimmy” Nichols, died Sunday, June 20, 1999 in Columbia Putnam General Hospital. She was a seamstress. Funeral Tuesday, June 22, 1999 at Heck Funeral Home; burial in Templeton Cemetery.

NORMA IRENE NASH

Mrs. Norma Irene Nash, 60, of Huntington WV, passed away April 20, 1999, in St. Mary's Hospital. Funeral services were conducted Friday, April 23,1999, at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by the Rev. Truman Adkins. Burial in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. She was born June 3, 1938, in West Hamlin, a daughter of the late James and Della Crank Harless. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Gary Nash III. She is survived by her husband, Gary Nash, her children and their spouses, Debra and Mike Hesson of Prichard, Gary and Rhonda Nash Jr., of Charlotte, NC, Pam and John Atkins Jr., of Lynchburg, VA, and Vickie and Larry Lambert of Virginia Beach, VA; one sister, Letha Mills of Barboursville; one half-sister, Bertha Dillon of California; one brother, James Harless of Huntington, WV; nine grandchildren, Michelle Hesson Jeffries, Michael Hesson, Nathaniel, Preston and Megan Nash, Keith and Kira Gottberg, Matthew and Amanda Lambert, and a very dear friend, Connie Sadler. Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville, was in charge of arrangements.
