Fred Blake
(November 14, 1926 - July 13, 2013)



FRED BLAKE, 86, of Huntington, W.Va., passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2013, at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at 1 p.m. at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Pastor Rodney Hale. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Huntington, W.Va. Military rites will be provided by the American Legion Post 93 of Kenova and the U.S. Navy and Masonic Rites will be provided by the Crescent Lodge #32 AF&AM of Ceredo. Fred was a retired foreman with the CSX Railways and a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Navy. Fred was a member of the 1st Baptist Ceredo Church, American Legion Post 93 of Kenova, WV and Crescent Lodge #32 AF&AM of Ceredo. Fred was born on November 14, 1926, in Walnut Hills, W.Va., the son of the late Ernest Edwin and Mae Carver Blake. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his two brothers and sisters, Charles Earl and Edward Lee Blake and Kathleen Blake David and Elizabeth Mae Lewis and one niece, Ramona A. Bell. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Alice Leighty Blake; two brothers and sister in law, Donald Blake and Larry and Gerri Blake; two sisters and brothers in law, Dorothy and Bruce Hubbard and Nellie and Curtiss Todd; two nephews, Mark Swann and Robert Bell, and several other nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at the Reger Funeral Home.
