Obituary
Ronnie Edward Mullins, 74, of Huntington, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2016, at home with his beloved wife of 53 years Bonnie Akers Mullins and family by his side. Ronnie was an only child of the late Naaman and Clarcie Spry Mullins. He was born September 3, 1941 in Logan, WV and graduated from Logan High School in 1959. He was a retired chemist from special metals. He and his wife, Bonnie, were the first husband and wife team of EMT’s and active in the Lavalette Volunteer Fire Department. Ronnie was founder and President of the Lavalette Little League and very active in his community. He loved the outdoors, reading and writing poems, electronics, woodworking, and was a CB radio buff known as “Country Gentleman.” He was a member of Buena Vista Masonic Lodge #60, A.F. & A.M. of Whites Creek. He was a 32nd ° mason. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant son, Gregory Scott Mullins, and his only nephew Eric Shane Luther. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his devoted children Tammy Mullins, Tim Mullins, and Nikki Leslie (Matt). Thanks to special friends and neighbors Randy Lewis and Lee Pennington, who were very special to him and loved to talk and share stories and always put a smile on his face. Grandchildren include Brylen Leslie, Bryce Leslie, Brooke Mullins and Austin Mullins. A sister-in-law and brother-in-law; Gail and Frank Luther and his only niece Shannon Luther and son Collin. And a special family friend Laura Brown. Special thanks to his home health nurse of two years, Robin Miller, and special care giver Jennifer Tomlin who held a special place in his heart and will always be part of the family. Also to Dr. Dilip Nair for the comfort and care he provided. Friends may call from 6-8 pm on Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at the Reger Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm Thursday, March 31, 2016, at the Reger Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Kenova. Buena Vista Masonic Lodge #60, A.F. & A.M. of Whites Creek will conduct masonic graveside rites. Ronnie was a devoted husband, father, papaw, poppy and friend. He never met a stranger. He will be forever loved and missed by everyone who knew him.
