ObituaryAudie Monroe Ramey
AUDIE MONROE RAMEY, 87, of Salt Rock, W.Va., passed away January, 21, 2012, at St. Mary's Medical Center, Huntington, with family and close friends by his side. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Pastor Weston Cremeans. Entombment will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. He was born February 25, 1924, in Branchland, W.Va., a son of the late Audie and Lettie McCoy Ramey. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in World War II and was a Purple Heart recipient. He was a long time owner of Ramey's Grocery Store. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Cindy Mae Ramey and Emma Ramey; and three brothers, Lawrence, Tom and Fred Ramey. He is survived by his wife Betty Queen Ramey; one son Kenneth (Sue) Ramey; two grandchildren, Julie (Johnny) Dial and Jennifer Johnson; four great-grandchildren, Brandon Monroe Dial, Riley Faith Johnson, Dylan Marshall Dial and Rian Grace Johnson; and a special nephew, Tim Ramey, and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins. Special thanks to the nurses and doctors at St. Mary's MICU for their care and love. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville.
