CHARLENE ERWIN LANEY CLAGG
(May 17, 1935 - March 21, 2016)



CHARLENE ERWIN LANEY CLAGG, 80, of Barboursville, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 21, 2016. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, March 25, 2016, at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel with Pastor Don Reynolds officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Huntington. Charlene was born May 17, 1935, in Olive Hill, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Rollie Herbert and Georgia Wooten Erwin. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Burman Clagg; three brothers, Eugene, Donald and Emmit Erwin; a son-in-law William Gibson and a daughter-in-law Connie Laney. She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Laney Gibson of Fraziers Bottom, W.Va.; three sons, David (Karen) Laney of Ona, W.Va., Bobby (Kelli) Clagg of Proctorville, Ohio, and Rodney (Mindy) Clagg of Leonardtown, Md.; three sisters, Juanita Stanley and Martha (Jim) Blake, both of Huntington, and Sarah (Darrell) Meadows of Milton, W.Va.; two brothers, Robert (Janelle) Erwin of Gallipolis Ferry, W.Va., and Rollie Erwin Jr. and his wife Hope Stevens of Barboursville; seven grandchildren, Pauletta, Amy, Tanya, Melissa, Cindy, Cooper and Reagan; four great-grandchildren, Sasha, Matthew, Alex and Bailey; and her "baby" Bernie. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville.
