Irma Lee Holderby
(March 13, 1930 - July 22, 2010)



Irma Lee Holderby, 80, of Huntington, WV died Thursday July 22, 2010, in St. Mary's Medical Center after a courageous battle from complications of surgery. Funeral service will be conducted 12:30 PM Tuesday July 27, 2010 at Chapman's Mortuary Huntington with Pastor Steve Williams officiating. Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park. Irma was born March 13, 1930 in Cabell Co., WV a daughter of the late Floyd and Nannie Martin Insco. She was an entrepreneur who owned and operated several businesses in the Huntington area. Irma was an artist, and avid collector of antiques. Her greatest joy in life was helping others. She was a member of Central Freewill Baptist Church and attended Christ Temple with her son. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Norman Edwin Holderby, two sisters Alberta Adkins and Gladys Fuller, three brothers George, Fred and Gene Insco. Survivors include her daughter Lisa Marie Holderby-Gersten and husband Kenneth Michael Gersten of Red Bank, NJ, son Joseph John Holderby and wife Toni of Huntington, two sisters Anna Woolum and Eloise Sullivan and one brother Robert Insco all of Huntington, three grandchildren Anissa Nichole Powell of Hurricane, Joshua and Jonathan Ross of Huntington and three great-grandchildren Chastity Lynn, Ashley Marie, and Katie Ann Powell. The family would like to thank Pastor Chuck Lawrence, the hospital ministry, all the prayers from the congregation of Christ Temple, the nurses and doctors who treated her at St. Mary's Medical Center and Pastor Steve Williams for his diligent loving care while she was in the hospital. Friends may call at Chapman's Mortuary from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday July 26, 2010.
