Bessie Lorajean Meade
(April 15, 1929 - July 1, 2010)



Bessie Lorajean Meade, 81, of Huntington, went to be in the presence of her Lord and Savior, to rejoice in Heaven with her parents and siblings, July 1, 2010, in Saint Mary's Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted 2:30 pm Sunday, July 4, 2010 at Chapman's Mortuary, with Pastor Phillip Warren officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. She was born April 15, 1929, in Kanawha County, WV, a daughter of the late Ray and Lola Belle Miller Pauley. One brother, Clifford Pauley and one sister Lillian Creech also preceded her in death. She was a homemaker, a very loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was the example of hospitality to all who entered her home, loved cooking, baking, finding special recipes and painting. She attended Prince of Peace Freewill Baptist Church. Survivors include: her husband of 59 years, Joseph C. Meade; one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Jean Kimler of Holden, WV; two daughters and sons-in-law, Rita and David Hatfield, and Carolyn and Greg Kuhn all of Huntington; one brother, Ernest Pauley and his wife, Mary of South Charleston; three sisters, Joyce Griffith (Dana) of Saint Albans, WV, Betty Meadows, and Linda Bailey (John) all of Huntington; six grandchildren, JoBeth Kuhn, Ryan Hatfield, Jennifer Ball (Chad), Michael Kimler (Julie), Mark Kimler (Leslie), and Regina Robinson (Donnie); six great-grandchildren, Zach, Luke, Abby, Willie-Mike, Wesley and Jenna; and several nieces and nephews. Thank you Danette and Ella for all of your kindness and care of mom and dad. The family wishes to thank Lewis Memorial Baptist Church and Prince of Peace Freewill Baptist Church for the comfort and continued support. Friends may call from 12:30 pm to service time Sunday at the funeral home.
