Floyd A. Johnson
(August 1, 1925 - July 4, 2010)


Floyd A. Johnson, "Corky", 84, of Huntington, husband of 56 years to Theodosia Pyles Johnson, died Sunday July 4, 2010 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, WV. He was born August 1, 1925 in Chesapeake, OH, a son of the late Everett and Alma Gibson Johnson. Three brothers, George W. Johnson, Charles E. Johnson and Howard E. Johnson also preceded him in death. Floyd was a veteran of the U.S. Army during WW II, having served in Italy. He was a laborer with Ensign Electric. In addition to his wife survivors include, two daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah Lynn and David White of Douglasville, GA., and Barbara Ann and David Thompson of Culloden, WV; a son, Floyd Albert Johnson of Richmond, VA; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Russell E. and Rose Johnson of Suffolk, VA., and Kenneth J. and Mary Johnson of Pensacola, FL; four grandsons, Benjamin White, Andrew White, Matthew Thompson, and Samuel Johnson; many nieces and nephews; and he will be missed by his trading buddies. Inurnment will be in Union Hill Cemetery, Chesapeake, OH. A celebration of life will be 5:00-8:00 PM Wednesday July 7, 2010, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, 3100 Staunton Rd. Huntington, WV 25702.
