Nancy Ann Chapman
(April 5, 1930 - July 26, 2012)



Ms. NANCY ANN CHAPMAN of Pickerington, Ohio, succumbed to pancreatic cancer on July 26, 2012. Born April 5, 1930, in Huntington, W.Va., the only child of the late Letha Elizabeth (Rowsey) Chapman and Oliver Kenneth Chapman, previously of Huntington and Fort Lauderdale, Fla. She was preceded in death by her husband of 20 years, William O. Hicks. Ms. Chapman was a child singer on Huntington radio station WSAZ in the 1930s, singing with the Rowsey Family Singers, a group comprised of her grandfather, Huston Rowsey, her mother, father, aunt Ana (Rowsey) and uncle Ken Ellis. Ms. Chapman graduated from Huntington East High School and Huntington School of Business. In Huntington, she was a secretary at LeJon Mfg. and a member of Ninth Avenue Methodist Church. In Columbus, Ohio, she was office manager for Royal Typewriter Co., and for 35 years, office manager/prosthetic technician in the George A. Hannah, D.D.S., dental office. Ms. Chapman loved ballroom dancing, riding horses, reading and cross-word puzzles. She leaves behind her dear friends, Imogene, Marcelene and Bernadine Dunagan of Teays Valley, W.Va., Debra, Greg and Gary Hannah of Blacklick, Ohio; two aunts, Loucilla Paddy and Nancy Rowsey; many beloved cousins; her gentle friends at Mt. Carmel Hospice; and her kind neighbors in Pickerington. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012, at 4 p.m. at Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, OH, and Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Chapman's Mortuary, 2851 3rd. Ave., Huntington, WV 25702. Interment will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington, W.Va.
