William Parrish
(February 28, 1929 - July 22, 2012)



William Parrish, 83, of Proctorville, Ohio, passed away Sunday, July 22, 2012, at Hospice House of Huntington. He was born Feb. 28, 1929, to the late Charles Hubbard Parrish and Otto Richter Bostic Smith Parrish in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Millard, Robert and Henry Smith, Virginia Dew, Ruby Parrish, Donald Parrish, and Betty Parrish. He is survived by his loving wife and eternal companion Imogene Mullins Parrish, sister Emilee Scott (Logan, Utah), brother, Douglas Parrish (Crest Hill, Illinois), and many nieces and nephews with a special closeness to Scott E. Dixon (Payson, UT) and Ivan W. Dixon (Asheville, NC). He retired from the Cabell County elementary school system as a teacher, and is also a Veteran, having served his country in the U.S. Army. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon Church), Shawnee Drive, Huntington, WV, conducted by Bishop Andrew Mazon, presided over by President Thomas E. Bexfield. Interment will follow at Ridgelawn Memorial Park, with military graveside rites to be conducted by the Veterans Honor Guard Post 16, Huntington, WV. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 24, 2012, at Chapman’s Mortuary, 2851 Third Avenue, Huntington, West Virginia.
