Louis William Bonene
(June 5, 1921 - May 18, 2012)



Louis W. “Luke” Bonene, 90, of Huntington, widower of Elizabeth A.”Betty” Bonene, passed away Friday, May 18, 2012, in Chateau Grove Assisted Living, Barboursville, WV. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 am Monday, May 21, 2012, in the Woodmere Memorial Park Abbey of Remembrance, with Father Jim Sobus officiating. Burial will follow. Officially known to everyone as “Lukie”, he was born June 5, 1921, in McMechen, WV, a son of the late Louis D. and Mary Furbee Bonene. A son Thomas W. Bonene, and a grandson Christopher Cline also preceded him in death. He was a US Navy veteran having served during World War II. He retired from C&P Telephone Company as an engineer. He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, BPOE #294, Fairmont, WV, American Legion Post # 17 Fairmont, WV, and the Knights of Columbus Huntington, WV. Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Susan Kay Reese, and Mary Lou and Daryl Cline all of Huntington; 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the staff of Chateau Grove Assisted Living for the loving care they gave Dad during his stay. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, or the American Diabetes Association. Friends may call 30 minutes prior to service time at the cemetery.
