Obituary

Billy Joe Dillon, Sr.
(October 28, 1937 - April 14, 2015)



Billy Joe Dillon, Sr., 77, of Huntington, WV, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted noon Friday, April 17, 2015, at Chapman’s Mortuary, Huntington, with Rev. Ronnie Tyree officiating. Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington. Pallbearers will be Shawn Dillon, Joshua Hodge, Douglas Hodge and Ronnie Robinson. He was born October 28, 1937 in Cabell County, WV a son of the late Burl and Elva Mae Evans Dillon. His wife Gloria Gean Dillon; a grandson Michael Dillon; two sisters, Helen Burchette and Rosalee Mills; and two brothers, Burl “Junior” Dillon and Everett “Jack” Dillon, also preceded him in death. He was a retired welder for the Ohio River Company and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Chesapeake, OH. Survivors include: a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Douglas Hodge of Huntington; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Garry and Theressa Dillon and Billy and Jennie Dillon, all of Huntington, and Sidney Dillon of White House, TN; three sisters, Barbara Cyrus, Fay Morrison and Shirley McCoy; two brothers, Jimmy Dillon and Philip “Frank” Dillon; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Gangwish, Jeremy Dillon, Shawn Dillon, Amanda Robinson and her husband, Ronnie, Courtney Houchins and her husband Orin, Taylor Dillon, Douglas Hodge and Joshua Hodge; and five great grandchildren, Carrie Gangwish, Zander Gangwish, Hayley Robinson, Bailey Head, and Xavier Houchins. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, April 16, 2015, at Chapman’s Mortuary, Huntington.
