Obituary

Alberta Warf
(April 30, 1922 - April 23, 2015)



Alberta "Berdie" Warf, 92, of Huntington, WV, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2015 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. She was born April 30, 1922 in Glenwood, WV, a daughter of the late Elta Holley. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lee "Johnny" Warf, and a special nephew, Bob Warf. A longtime resident of Huntington, WV, Berdie was an avid football fan, and she will be remembered for her love of Marshall University Football! She was owner and operator of the former Blue Goose Tavern on Long Branch Road. She is survived by her son, Robert Lee Warf (Deloris) of Huntington; two grandchildren, Johnny Warf of Huntington, and Kristy Warf Nantz (David) of Madison, WV; and three great grandchildren, Corey Warf of Huntington, Brigham Warf of Barboursville, and Cody Nantz of Madison, WV. She is also survived by a special niece, Opal Warf and her children Buster and Bob Warf, and a special friend, Mickey Arthur, who checked on her daily. A private family service and burial will take place at Ridgelawn Memorial Park in Huntington, with Pastor Heron Adkins officiating.
