Evelyn Mae Swann Kearns
(February 28, 1921 - April 25, 2015)


Evelyn Mae Swann Kearns, 94, of Huntington, WV, passed away Saturday April 25, 2015 at Huntington Health & Rehabilitation Center. Graveside funeral service will be conducted 1:00 PM Tuesday April 28, 2015 at Greenbottom Memorial Park with Pastor David Blake officiating. Burial will follow. Evelyn was born February 28, 1921 in Cabell County, WV a daughter of the late Howard E. & Clara A. Legg Swann. She was a member of the Greenbottom Missionary Baptist Church & V.F.W. Post 9738 Women’s Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband, L. Keith Kearns, three sisters, Pauline Collins, Norma Ellis & Josephine Gibson, three brothers, Howard E. Swann, Jr., Eugene & Robert R. Swann, and one son, William H. Damron. Survivors include five children, Clara Rowe, Fern Simmons, Betty Deskin, Calvin Damron, Jr., & Sharon Ward, two brothers, James A. & Orman E. Swann, 21 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren & 4 great great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 1601 2nd Ave., Charleston, WV 25387.
