Obituary


Melvin Alvin Baumgardner, Jr., 64, of Dayton, OH, passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2015, in the Huntington Veterans Administration Medical Center. He was born July 15, 1951 in Baltimore, MD a son of Edna Chapman Baumgardner of Dayton, OH, formerly of Huntington, WV, and the late Melvin Alvin Baumgardener, Sr. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran; was retired from the Wright Patterson Air Force Base; and was a photographer. In addition to his mother, survivors include: his son and daughter-in-law, David and Keesa Baumgardner of Dayton; his grandchildren, Grace Baumgardner and Carson Baumgardner; a half-sister, Lela Coffee of Baltimore, MD; and several cousins, including special cousins, Cary and Jackie Smoot, Gene Baumgardner, Ronald Baumgardner, Paul Baumgardner, and Mike Baumgardner, all of Huntington Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 16, 2015, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor Keith Wiebe, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Huntington, with Veterans Honor Guard Post 16 conducting military graveside rites.
