Obituary

ELMA BEATRICE DAVIS, 89, of Barboursville passed away Friday, Nov. 18, 2005, in Cabell Huntington Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, 2005, at Sousanah Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Caudle Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in Culloden Cemetery. Elma was born Jan. 27, 1916, in Cabell County, a daughter of the late Teet and Anna Edwards Scites. She is also preceded in death by her husband, James Jefferson Davis; one daughter, Faye Hinkle; one grandson, Lester Hinkle; four sisters, Bertha Burton, Carrie Harris, Eva Young and Louise Barns. She was a lifelong member of Sousanah Freewill Baptist Church. Elma is survived by one daughter and son-in-law with whom she made her home, Mae and Wendell Ashworth of Barboursville; one son and daughter-in-law, Earl and Sandy Davis of Huntington; eight grandchildren, Mark Robert Davis, Gary Hinkle, Michael Hinkle, Veronica Berry, Brenda Betts, Rodney Ashworth, Jeff Ashworth and Anthony Ashworth; 13 great-grandchildren. Friends may call one hour prior at the church today.
