Cornice Gene Adkins
(March 27, 1941 - July 8, 2011)

Cornice Gene Adkins, 70, of Lesage, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 8, 2011. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am Monday, July 11, 2011 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel by Pastor Gary Wilson and Jerry Jobe. Burial will be in Crook Cemetery. He was born March 27, 1941 in Branchland, WV, a son of the late Dewey and Mary Kirk Adkins. He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law, Charles Rogers Clay and mothers-in-law, Mary Elizabeth Clay and Susan (Pat) Clay, a brother-in-law, Kenneth Gue and a sister-in-law, Joyce Graley. He was retired from Steel of West Virginia. He is survived by his wife, Charlene Clay Adkins; one daughter and son-in-law, Valarie and Darrell Cremeans of Pedro, OH; one son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Robin Adkins of Barboursville; one sister, Alice Gue of Huntington; three brothers and their wives, Lee and Nancy Adkins of Erie, Michigan, Lloyd and Helen Adkins of Proctorville, OH, and Orvel and Glenna Adkins of Huntington, WV; three grandchildren, Derrek and his wife Whitney Cremeans, Sharli Cremeans, and Skylar Adkins; a brother-in-law, Bill Clay; two sisters-in-law, Mary Cook and Cindy Clay; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Sunday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
