Larry Glen Lambert Sr.
(May 28, 1941 - July 26, 2011)



Larry Glen Lambert Sr., 70, of Proctorville, OH, passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2011, at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Minister Danny Evans. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. He was born May 28, 1941, in Rita, WV, a son of the late Thomas Lambert and Gracie Skeens Vance. He was a graduate of Guyan Valley High School and Marshall University. He retired from Cox Landing Elementary School after 26 years of service as principal. He is president of the Board of Directors for Universal Federal Credit Union, a member of Farmdale Church of Christ, a member of Phi Delta Kappa, a member of American Cornhole Organization, and is the founder of WV Thunder AAU girls Basketball program. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Jeffrey Scott Lambert. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Plybon Lambert; two sons, Larry Lambert Jr. and his wife Vickie of Barboursville, Mark A. Lambert of Leon, WV; one sister, Escalene Basham of Barboursville; one brother, Gary Lambert and his wife, Cynthia of Charlottesville, VA; four grandchildren, Matthew and Madison Lambert, Amanda and Ryan Waugh, Rachel Lambert and Madalyn Maddie Lambert, and many special friends. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to WV Thunder AAU Girls Basketball, c/o Universal Federal Credit Union, 317 31th Street, Huntington, WV, 25702 or Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, 3100 Staunton Road, Huntington, WV, 25702. The family would like to thank the staff at the Hospice house for their kindness and care during their stay.  Pallbearers will be Scott Johnson, Justin Meade, Danny Swanson, Matthew Lambert, Ryan Waugh, and Joe Noble.
