Obituary

Veda Frances Chapman
(March 20, 1932 - June 2, 2016)



Veda Frances Chapman, 84, of Salt Rock, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on June 2, 2016 at 1:50 p.m. surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 20, 1932 in Cabell County a daughter of the late Alger Erney and Loena Wetherholt Sutphin. Veda was a retired cook for the Cabell County Board of Education and a charter member of Valley of Decision Church. She is also preceded in death by her siblings, Lee Sutphin, Buster Sutphin, James Sutphin, Elvin Sutphin and Darrell Sutphin. She was married on April 22, 1949 to her loving husband Osle Junior Chapman of 67 happy and prosperous years together thanks to their Lord and Savior. She is also survived by her children Robert “Bob” and Diana Chapman of Salt Rock; William “Bill” and Debbie Chapman of Salt Rock and Sherry Renee Chapman of Salt Rock; grandchildren, Christopher “Todd” and Debra Chapman of Barboursville, Suzanne Michelle Chapman of Milton, Tisha Nicole (Craig) Martisko of Morgantown, Nathan Derrick Estep of Salt Rock, Scott Wayne Huffman of Barboursville, Steven Michael Huffman of Ashland, Jennifer Lynn Callicoat of South Point, Michael Reyburn of Kenova and Mark Reyburn of Kenova; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister Oma Johnson of Milton; one brother David (Barbara) Sutphin of Ona and a host of nieces, nephews and brothers and sisters-in-laws. Friends may visit from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, June 5, 2016 at Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville and one hour prior at the church on Monday. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, June 6, 2016 at Valley of Decision Church with Pastor Kevin Shull officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Memorial Park, Milton.
