ROSIE ELIZABETH SHORT PERRY
(March 23, 1934 - June 21, 2016)



ROSIE ELIZABETH SHORT PERRY, 82, of Barboursville, daughter of the late Willie Forrest "Bud" Short and Elsie Virginia Black Short, passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2016, with family by her side. She was born March 23, 1934, in Barboursville, W.Va. She retired from Alcon Industries where her co-workers called her "Rose Bud." She was a member for many years of Barboursville Church of Christ. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John Edward Perry, a grandson Jon Smith, two brothers, Clinton Short and William Short, and three sisters, Rilda Nimmo, Virginia Campbell and Gracie Short. She is survived by one daughter and her husband, Tammy and Carl Rowe of Huntington; two sons, Rick Smith and his wife Paula of Hurricane, W.Va., and Edward Perry of Barboursville; one sister, Patty Watson of Florida; two brothers, Lloyd Short of Virginia and Danny Swanson of Barboursville; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and very special friends Jeannette and Jeff Boster and Rosie and Doug Spurlock. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, June 24, 2016, at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel with Ministers David Gladwell and Doug Spurlock officiating. Burial will be in Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Matthew Harris and the Hospice staff. Rosie was a loving mother and wonderful friend to many. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
