RANDY EUGENE "POPPY" LESTER
( November 12, 2016)



RANDY "POPPY" EUGENE LESTER, 60, of Huntington, W.Va., was called suddenly and unexpectedly to his heavenly home with Jesus Christ his Lord and Savior on November 12, 2016. Randy leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife Vickie; his parents Wetzel and Dorothy Lester; his daughters Beth (Dale) Ramey of Branchland, and Brandy (Kevin) Floyd of Lumberton, N.C.; his treasured grandson, Zachary Dale Ramey, the apple of "Poppy's" eye. Additional survivors include his sister Cindy (Wendell) Adkins and sisters-in-law and their spouses, Henrietta (Elvin) Green, Kimberly (Timothy) Mason and Renee (Gary) Cooper. Uncle Randy also leaves to cherish his memory and heed his advice, nephews and nieces Jason (Ashley) Adkins, Jody (Junior) Hammond, Quintessence (Matthew) Christian, Lee (Charlotte) Green, Nathan Mason, Summer (Justin) Fitzhugh, Daniel (Krista Redden) Fuller; great-nieces and nephews Josiah and Jaden Hammond, Noah and Mollie Green and Katherine Fitzhugh. Randy also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Randy was a mechanic and retired from Bill Spurlock. He was an avid hunter and loved every moment he spent in the woods. He loved bluegrass music and was an exceptionally talented guitar player. He enjoyed ham radios and camping. He attended 10th Avenue Church of God, and Bowen Ridge Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 16, 2016, at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Pastor Ronnie Eplin and Pastor Darrell Buttram. Burial will be in Marion Adkins Cemetery, Branchland. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. The many lives he touched will forever mourn his sudden passing.
