Obituary

Jonathan Paul Dorsey
(October 14, 1958 - February 4, 2022)

Jonathan Paul Dorsey, 63, of Shoals, West Virginia was a caring partner, son, brother, and friend. Jon left this world suddenly on February 4, 2022, at the age of 63 shortly after being diagnosed with an untreatable case of cancer. Following his cremation, a celebration of life gathering will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at 357 Main Street, Ceredo, West Virginia. Friends and family are welcome to come anytime during those hours. Jon was born on October 14, 1958, to the late Ernest Lowell and Lucy Viola Patterson Dorsey. He was a graduate of Buffalo High School and worked as an apprentice and glass blower at Pilgrim Glass for over 20 years starting in his high school years. After Pilgrim closed, he worked at Woodlands Retirement Community. Jon was a life-long resident of the TriState area and spent most of his happy times with the love of his life, Betty Waugh, and his two special doggies, Joey and Dusty. Jon loved to watch his football games and NASCAR races, as well as playing golf, and enjoyed all these pastimes even more if there was a friendly bet involved. In addition to his parents, Jon was predeceased by his older sister and brother, Robin and Tom Dorsey. He is survived by his beloved life partner of 25 years Betty Waugh; two brothers Fred (Kim) and Randy Dorsey and several nieces and nephews.
