Claude A. “Tom” Clagg, 78, of Lesage, passed away on Friday, August 19, 2016 at his home. He was born January 3, 1938 in Milton, a son of the late Laban and Eva Clagg. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Clayton, Verl, Jim and Bill Clagg and two sisters, Mary Ferguson and Leona Annie Christian. Tom loved farming and tending to his horses. His favorite horses were brothers named “Justin” and “Morgan”. He also loved traveling to Civil War reenactments and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Carole Hagley Clagg; one son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey Thomas and Penny Clagg; one brother, Earl Clagg; one sister, Dolly Walls; three grandchildren, Julius, Jeremiah and Abby Clagg; special niece and nephew who helped care for Tom, Cathie Elder and Homer Christian; and three neighbors who also helped care for him, Jerry and John Michael Meadows and Jack Gillispie. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, August 22, 2016 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton. Funeral service will be held at noon on Tuesday, August 23 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
