Shirley Jane Chapman Elkins, 72, of Culloden, passed away Monday, August 29, 2016 in St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington. She was born April 15, 1944 in Culloden, WV, a daughter of the late Cecil and Lillian Janey Chapman. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Dana A. Elkins; four brothers and two sisters. She is survived by two daughters, Deborah Adkins of Culloden and Darla Murphy of Louisiana; one son, Dana Elkins, Jr. and his wife, Simi of Charleston; seven grandchildren, Chad and Brandon Kirwan, Tristan and Tanner Murphy, Simran Walker, and Sachleen and Isabella Elkins; one brother, Melvin Chapman; four sisters, Marie Hedrick, Bonnie Breedlove, Betty Racer and Linda Bird; and her baby dog, “Mocha”. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 31 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Heck Funeral Home, Milton. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 1 at the funeral home with the Rev. Leonard Cremeans officiating. Burial will follow in Culloden Cemetery.
