Christine Sargent, 85, of Huntington, formerly of Milton, passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2016. Born on October 15, 1930 in Milton, she was a daughter of the late Alva Hickman and Nellie Cooper. Christine retired from Blenko Glass in the early 90s after nearly 20 years of dedicated service. She was a hard worker and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Above all, she was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Christine is survived by her children, Virginia Jordan of Barboursville, Robert (Sandra) of Barboursville and Rebecca (Charles) Ferman of Huntington; her grandchildren, Jimmy (Melissa) Jordan of Milton, Misty (Troy) Grass of Barboursville, Michelle (Gary) Lucas of Proctorville, OH, Kristi Bostic of Huntington, Melanie (Keith) McSweeney of Barboursville and Kellie (Tug) Harris of Prichard, WV; her great-grandchildren, Bodie (Blaine) Grass, Miranda Christian, Tye Grass, Abigael Bowen, Jordan Christian, Austin Jordan, Brady McSweeney, Michael Lucas, Hunter McSweeney, Logan Harris, Charlee Harris, Emelia Harris and Rowen Grass; her siblings, Harold Hickman of Pliny, WV, John (Phyllis) Hickman of Milton, Jack Hickman of Milton, Elwood (Francis) Hickman of Milton and Arvena (Dallas) Gibson of Milton. In addition to her parents, Christine was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Sargent, Sr.; brothers, Dewie, Gerald and Elsworth Hickman; her sister, Irene Smith and very special son-in-law, Jimmy Jordan. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton. Burial will follow at Forest Memorial Park in Milton. The family will welcome friends on Monday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
