Obituary

Patricia “Patsy” Ann Bryan Escue, 86, of Upland, WV, peacefully left this earth to go to her heavenly home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, August 2, 2016. She was born May 24, 1930 in St. Albans, WV. She is preceded in death by her parents Clark and Grace Bryan. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Charles F. Escue and daughters, Helena Grace Escue and B. Kay Hagley. Patsy is survived by her daughter, Jane Edmonds (Mike), both of Upland, WV; son-in-law, Darrell Hagley of Upland; six grandchildren, Charlie Hagley, Bryan Hagley, Josh Edmonds, Elizabeth Call, John Hagley and Abby Cordell; 19 great grandchildren; and her sister, Conna Mae Poe of St. Albans. Patsy was originally from Kanawha County but moved to Mason County in 1957. She was a homemaker for most of her life but she worked at Morris Watch Shop and Adams Hallmark in Milton, WV for several years. She was a longtime member of River Cities Community Church, where she served as Awana Leader, Prayer Chain Coordinator and Sunday School teacher. She was an avid quilter and loved making quilts for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Patsy loved God, her husband and family. We will miss her but celebrate with her as she meets her Lord and reunites with her loving husband of 68 years. The family would like to thank Hospice of Huntington for their love and care of our mother. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, August 5, 2016 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton. Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 6, 2016 at River Cities Community Church, Huntington. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
