SALLY JEAN SHOCKLEY
(May 17, 1946 - September 20, 2011)



Sally Jean Erwin Shockley, a very special mother and friend, 65 of Proctorville, OH formerly of Huntington, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 in St. Mary’s Medical Center.  Private burial was conducted on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at Union Ridge Cemetery, Cabell County, WV which would have also marked Jim and Sally’s 48th wedding anniversary. They were married on September 21, 1963.  She was born May 17, 1946 in Huntington, WV the daughter of the late Sebert and Frances Evelyn (Carter) Erwin. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jim Shockley, one sister, Anna Sue Jarvis and two brothers, Danny and Butch Erwin.  She was a graduate of Huntington East High School, retired from Perry Norvell Shoe Factory in Huntington and from the Kmart Deli. She is survived by one son, Jimmy Shockley, Jr. of Scottown, OH; two daughters, Bonnie Bolen of MO. and Pamela and husband, Richard “Dickie” Leffingwell of Proctorville, OH; one sister, Kay Mills of Columbus, OH; one brother, Tom Erwin of New Boston, OH; four grandsons with whom she resided, Nicholas, Derek, Brandon and Bradley Leffingwell; three additional grandchildren, Bradley and Jessica Bolen and James Shockley; two great-grandchildren and one special niece, Sandra Saddler-Hall.  Sally dearly loved her best friends, her dogs, Rusty, Reno and Bear.
