DONA JEWEL VAUGHAN
(June 14, 1925 - September 23, 2011)

Dona Jewel Lusher Vaughan, 86 of Barboursville, WV, passed away, Friday, September 23, 2011 in Chateau Grove assisted Living Facility.  She was born June 14, 1925 in Cabell County, WV, the daughter of the late Hubert and Linnia (Spears) Lusher. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Fred and Frank Lusher. She was a retired Executive Secretary for the Corps of Engineers member of Pea Ridge Baptist Church and Huntington Christian Women’s Club. She is survived by two daughters, Donna (Jeff) Kaplan of Huntington, WV and Melinda Schnackenberg of Palm Coast, FL; four grandchildren, Kramer and Keaton Kaplan, Miranda and Michael Mathews and Shannon Martin. Funeral services will conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 26, 20ll at Henson Mortuary, Barboursville with Rev. Greg Creasy officiating. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. The family will receive friends from noon until service time at the funeral home. The family wishes to thank  the staff of Chateau Grove for their loving care of the last 6-1/2 years. Flowers will be accepted, but donations may be made to Hospice of Huntington, the Alzheimer’s Association or to Pea Ridge Baptist Church, Water for Life Program.
