James Leister “Jay” Goodson, Jr., 76 of Lesage, W.Va. passed away, Monday, November 21, 2016 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, W.Va. He was born October 17, 1940 in Kimball, W.Va. the son of the late, James Leister Goodson, Sr. and Ethel Mae Minnick Goodson. He was a retired custodian with Cabell County Board of Education, enjoyed fishing and loved his family. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Douglas Goodson and Jerry J.R. Goodson and one sister, Janice Goodson. He is survived by three sisters, Iris (Tom) Sexton of Chesapeake, OH, Geneva (Leroy) Lambert or Roseburg, OR and Linda (Freddy) Ryder of Lesage, W.Va. and a sister-in-law, Sylvia Goodson of Williamsburg, VA and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Monday, November 28, 2016 at Henson & Kitchen Mortuary, Huntington, W.Va. with Pastor Chuck Lawrence and Pastor Bob Gillette officiating. Private burial will follow on Tuesday in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, W.Va. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Monday at Henson & Kitchen Mortuary.
