Virgil LeRoy Schneider, 79 of South Point, OH. Passed away, Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Ashland Community Hospice, Ashland, KY. He was born November 16, 1936 the son of the late, John Henry and Maude Belle Payne Schneider. He was a U.S. Marine, a retired custodian from Hills Dept. Store 5th Street Huntington location, worked for Dutch Miller Chevrolet as an Auto Detailer, an active Burlington community volunteer and was a member of 1st Baptist Church of Burlington, OH. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Marie Jackson Schneider; granddaughter, Sara Thoman and eleven brothers and sisters. He is survived by his four children, Angela (James) Maxey of Huntington, W.Va, Karin Schneider of South Point, OH, Tony (Ruby) Schneider of South Point, OH and Heather Schneider of South Point, OH; one sister, Audrey (Eugene) King of Grove Port, OH; grandchildren, Terry “T.J.” Schneider, Nicholas and Faith Schneider, Gauge Schneider and Jayden Thornhill and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Henson & Kitchen Mortuary, Huntington, W.Va. Burial will follow in the Burlington 37 Cemetery, South Point, OH. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
