Ivan Thomas Searls, 80 of Huntington, W.Va. passed away, Wednesday, November 2, 2016 in St. Mary's Medical Center, Huntington, W.Va. He was born May 25, 1936 in Meigs County, OH. the son of the late, Ivan Elby and Pearl Helen (Moore) Searls. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Ann Kitchen Searls and his daughter, Lisa Ann Searls; sisters, Joan Searls Waldon and Betty Meade. He was born and raised in the Apostolic faith and was a member of Apostolic Life Cathedral in Huntington, W.Va; a 1955 graduate of Huntington High School where he played football, attended Marshall University, was owner of Tommy Searls Plumbing, Heating and Air-conditioning and member of the Plumbers and Pipe-fitters Union. He is survived by his son, Michael Thomas Searls of Huntington, W.Va; brother, Aaron Searls of Hurricane, W.Va. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at Apostolic Life Cathedral with Bishop E.S. Harper officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-3 PM on Sunday at the church. Henson & Kitchen Mortuary, Huntington, W.Va. is caring for the family.
