Obituary

The Angels are rejoicing for Sherry Horn Ratcliff, 49 of Huntington, W.Va. has been called home, Monday, November 8, 2016. Many friends and family were waiting to give her a Hallelujah greeting. She was born June 24, 1967 in Huntington, W.Va. the daughter of Sharon Carter Horn of Huntington, W.Va. Those waiting her arrival in heaven waiting by the pearly gates were her hero and her dad, the late, Franklin Eugene “Gene” Horn, her sister, Patty Horn and both her maternal and paternal grandparents. Sherry liked to help people and she was retired from her dream job, the West Virginia Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. She was a member of Kingdom Inheritance Ministries whose congregation she considered family. Special thanks to Sherry’s caring doctors, Dr. Elkadra, Dr. ElHamdani, Dr. Alkhankan, Dr. Wallace and especially, Dr. Michael Collins and Dr. Dale Lilly. Surviving to mourn her passing is her greatest gift from God, the one who stole her heart from the moment he was born, her son, Tanner R. Ratcliff of Huntington, W.Va; the greatest mother, Sharon Horn of Huntington, W.Va; three brothers, Timothy (Delilah) Horn, Stephen (Melissa) Horn and Elijah Horn; her son’s, father, Mark Ratcliff of Huntington, W.Va; sister-in-law, Tiffany Ratcliff Napier (Anthony) of Barboursville, W.Va. Sherry loved all of her cousins and they were very special to her. She was blessed to have a loving and caring family and many Christian friends. Among those whom she loved was her “China Doll”, Eileen Rice and her furry babies, Panda and Jelly Bean who were her constant companions. Sherry was loved by everyone partly due to her wild sense of humor and outspokenness. To honor her, it was requested that friends share a special memory of Sherry with her son, Tanner by giving him a note sharing that memory. This token of love would be appreciated in lieu of flowers and would be a lasting memorial to her. Funeral services honoring Sherry will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 11, 2016 at Henson & Kitchen Mortuary, 6357 East Pea Ridge Rd. Huntington, W.Va. with Rev. Dennis Romans officiating. Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington, W.Va. The family will receive friends from noon until service time on Friday at the funeral home.
