ObituaryIva Chafin IVA CHAFIN, 85, of Huntington, W.Va., wife of Bill Chafin, went home to be with the Lord, on Sunday, January 24, 2010, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Pastor Eddie Gandy and Rev. Ron Page. Burial will follow in the Maple Hill section of Docks Creek Cemetery, Kenova, W.Va. She was born August 5, 1924, in Logan County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Greenway and Louise Vernatter Curry. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter Sharon Preece; two sisters Ermatrude Rosenda and Alice Curry and three brothers Mack, Ernest and Emza "Zeke" Curry. Additional survivors include a son Bill Chafin Jr., of Delbarton, W.Va.; son-in-law Larry Preece of Huntington; three daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Billy Brumfield of Southgate, Michigan, Brenda and Larry Brumfield of Chesapeake, Ohio and Karen and Rodney Adkins of Barboursville; 13 grandchildren, Brian Brumfield, Gina Allen, Steve Brumfield, Elaine Tapley, Letha Archibald, Anita Clark, Dwight Adkins, Derek Adkins, Jill Roberts, Craig Preece, Brett Preece, Jennifer Rasmussen and Sonia Smith; 32 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Tom Curry and Everett Curry; two sisters, Ida Hurst and Edna Maynard and a host of nieces and nephews. Friends may call from noon until service time on Wednesday at the Reger Funeral Home, Huntington, W.Va. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House.
