JEAN REYNOLDS WHITE, of Huntington, went to be with Jesus on Friday, Jan. 22, 2010, at the Lincoln Nursing and Rehab Center, Hamlin, W.Va. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Rev. Jerry Chapman. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, W.Va. She was born on West Virginia Day, June 20, in Hamlin, W.Va., a daughter of the late James Marion and Cordelia Alice Reynolds. She was a member of Open Door Baptist Church and the widow of James Louie White. She was a nurse for over 50 years in Guthrie and St. Mary's Hospitals. She loved people and served them well. Jean was a past worthy high priestess of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, past royal matron of the Wachovia Council of the Amarants and past member of the OES Marcum Chapter No. 61 of Ceredo, W.Va. She was a Kentucky Colonel, West Virginia Mountaineer and a General Democrat Committee person for 18 years in Wayne County, and she served her party well. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Della V. Bryan and Ruth Meade Hatfield; one brother, William Henry "Bud" Reynolds; sister in law Angeline Reynolds; sister-in-law, Elizabeth White; and brother-in-law, Joe White. Survivors include a brother-in-law, Sam White of New Iberia, La.; and a sister-in-law, Jean White of Cleveland, Ohio; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Friends may call from noon until service time Monday at the Reger Funeral Home.
