Walter L. Noel
(October 13, 1917 - January 31, 2010)



Walter L. Noel, of Lavalette, WV, formerly of Lenore, WV, born October 13, 1917, went to be with his Lord at the age of 92 at his residence. He was born to the late Emory R. and Vicy Ann Marcum Noel. He was preceded in death by two brothers Rev. Chelsea Noel and Fred Noel and one sister Charlene Deskins. He is survived by his loving wife Alice of 62 years, also two daughters and spouses Judy and Wally Gilliam of Cleveland, Tennessee and Gayle and Ronald Finley of Naugatuck, WV; six brothers Howard of McKenny, Texas, Emory and Ola Mae of Louisa, KY, Lee and Billie of Mallory, WV, David and Margaret, Rev. Eddie and DeLois, and Rev. Charles L. and Shirley all of Springfield, Ohio; three sisters Louise Hagman of Venice, Fla., Mae Oshore of Cyclone, WV and Bernice and Fred Kirk of Wytheville, VA.; four grandchildren Noel (DeAnna) Gilliam and Shawn (Emily) Gilliam, Tracy and Keith Finley; one great grandson Skylar Gilliam; one great granddaughter MaKayla Gilliam; a very special family member Marlene Ferrell Glasscock and caregiver Lynn Baise. Walter was a member of the Jefferson Avenue Church of God and a US Army Veteran having served during WWII. A celebration of his life will be at the Jefferson Ave. Church of God, at 1 pm Wednesday conducted by Pastors Greg Tomlinson and Paul Farley. Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington. Friends may call from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday at the Reger Funeral Home. Mr. Noel will be taken to the church one hour prior to service time Wednesday. Contributions may be made to the Jefferson Ave. Church of God, in memory of Walter L. Noel or to Hospice of Huntington.
