Evelyn Ruth Haner
(February 25, 1923 - August 27, 2012)



Evelyn Ruth Bentley Haner, 89, of Proctorville, Ohio, formerly of Kenova, WV, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Monday August 27, 2012. She was born February 5th, 1923 a daughter of the late Jacob and Anna Kisor Schaffer in Huntington, WV. She was preceded in death by her first husband Leo “Bokey” Bentley, brothers Melvin and John Schaffer and sisters Margaret Smith and Roseanne Bernhardt. Survivors include her husband and caregiver Bacty “June” Haner; her sons Ronald Bentley (Betty Jo) of Taylor, Mich., John Bentley (Terry) of Huntington, WV; daughter Margy Hodges (Curty) of Huntington; one special “adopted” son William “Charlie” Effingham whom she loved as one of her own and one sister Mabel Ratliff of Middletown, OH. She was a loving and very caring person and touched the lives of so many people. She was known by many special names such as “Babe”, “A”, “Angel” and “Munher” all given to her by her grandchildren, Eve Handley, Adam Jordan and his wife Kelly, Chris Bentley and his wife Tosha, Joanna Bentley Schrecengost and her husband David, Jon Ryan Bentley and his wife Meredith. She also had five great grandchildren Savannah, Garrett, Hunter, Jillian and Robbie and the sons of Bacty “June” Haner, Charlie and Junior and daughter Willeen. She loved and enjoyed life to the fullest and her greatest wish to everyone was to do the same. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm Friday at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Pastor Rodney Hale. Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington. Friends may call from 6 to 8 pm Thursday at the Reger Funeral Home.
