Andrew Jackson "A.J." Tackett Jr.
(August 2, 1950 - August 8, 2012)



Andrew Jackson "A.J." Tackett, Jr., 62, of South Point, Ohio, passed away Wednesday August 8, 2012, at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm Sunday at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Rev. Frank Donnely and Rev. Bo Bocook. Burial will follow in the Maple Hill Section of Docks Creek Cemetery, Kenova, WV. He was born August 2, 1950 in Blue Moon, KY a son of the late Andrew Jackson Tackett, Sr. and Fannie Parsons Tackett. Andrew was a US Army Veteran having served in the Military Police during the Vietnam era. He was a member of the DAV Chapter 2 of Huntington, the Morning Star Heaven Bound Church of South Point, the Masonic Lodge #536 AF&AM of Crown City, Ohio and the Scottish Rite Bodies. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters Alice Tackett Williamson, Avonelle Tackett Wiley and Rhoda Magaline Tackett Scott Marcum; special friend Michael Brent Casey and his faithful friend Clyde. Survivors include two brothers and sisters in law Martin and Debbie Tackett of Jeffersonville, KY and David and Dora Ann Tackett of Blaine, KY; two sisters Dorothy Marie Tackett of Catlettsburg, KY and Janice Marcum of Jackson, Mississippi; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins a host of friends including special friends Marie Pauley, Debbie Casey and Jeanie Cantrell. Friends may call from 6 to 8 pm Saturday at the Reger Funeral Home.
