Charles "Charlie" Benton Pitts Jr.
(November 1, 1940 - August 16, 2012)



Charles “Charlie” Benton Pitts, Jr., 71, of Huntington, WV, passed away peacefully Thursday, August 16, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington. Charlie was born November 1, 1940 in Charleston, WV, a son of the late Charles Benton Pitts, Sr. and Sarah Rhodes Pitts and spent the first half of his life there. He was a veteran of the US Army and retired from Broughton Foods in 1990. He is survived by his wife of 41 years Ruth Pitts. Charlie was preceded in death by his siblings, Orel, Donald, George, Robert, Ruth, Sandra and Juanita. Charlie is also survived by his four children and their spouses, Chris and Leigh Ann Pitts, Carrie White and Darrick Lewis, Belinda and Billy Robertson, and Charlie and Larissa Pitts; six grandchildren, Brandon and Tyler Robertson, Justin and Caleb White, and MaiLi and Cody Pitts. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. He enjoyed watching the deer in the back yard and playing the instant lottery. He will be missed by all who knew him. We would like to thank the staff of the VA Home Based Program for their kindness and support during his illness. We would also like to thank Hospice of Huntington for the comfort and care during this time. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Little Victories or the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 pm Sunday at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Pastor Tim Jayne. Burial will follow in Spring Valley Memory Gardens, Huntington. Friends may call from 6 to 8 pm Saturday at the Reger Funeral Home.
